To upgrade the Tiger II from the already fearsome Tiger, a more powerful gun was required. The role is ably filled by the KwK 43, a new version of the long 8.8cm PaK43 anti-tank gun modified to fit the Tiger II’s turret
The Tiger II inherited its drive train and suspension from the Panther rather than the Tiger, so despite its massive weight of 70 tonnes it is still agile in combat
