Sunrise Sunset

According to some sources, every sunrise and sunset marks the setting for the perpetual confrontation between Horus and Seth. In this endless battle, Seth, as the god of darkness and chaos, prevails over Horus, thus granting the arrival of night. However, in eternal revenge, the victory of Horus, the celestial god, ushers in a new day, continuing a cycle that has lasted since the beginning of time. In the game, players take on the roles of Horus and Seth and face off in three locations: the world of the living (Deshret), the underworld (Duat), and the Solar Boat or Mandjet, which symbolizes the Sun's journey across the sky. Sunrise Sunset is a game for two players with only 18 tarot-sized cards, making it very portable and easy to play anywhere, one game after another. Its mechanical design gives each game great depth and tension, where guessing your opponent's intentions is key to winning. In turns, each player will place a card in one of the three locations until they have placed two on both sides of each of the three locations, for a total of 12 cards. After this, combat will be resolved in each location. Each combat won makes you the dominant player in that location. If you win another combat in a location where you are already dominant, you will score one damage point. The game ends when one player scores 3 damage points. The cards have different powers and abilities, and some are even played face down to hide your strategy. A thorough knowledge of each card will help you calculate your chances in each battle and make better decisions in the game. The rules include a summary of each card's powers and abilities to help you during the game. A duel in Sunrise Sunset feels deep and agile, with palpable tension in every decision.
